GPR Varsity beat Regional Tournament 6 - 3 at Centennial Center on Tuesday. GPR Varsity and Regional Tournament both scored one goal to end the first period tied. In the second period, GPR Varsity outscored Regional Tournament three to one and took the lead. In the last period, GPR Varsity outscored their opponents by one goal and kept the lead to win the game.
GPR Varsity's Jade Miller got two goals for GPR Varsity and also had one assist. GPR Varsity's Zach Peterson scored two goals for GPR Varsity and also had one point.
Showing a super performance, GPR Varsity's Zach Nelson turned away 36 shots to get the win.
Adding to their victory, GPR Varsity went 2-for-3 on power plays. Regional Tournament went 0-for-4.
This was the season opener for Regional Tournament but GPR Varsity entered the game with a record of 11-10.
