Shutting out the competition, GPR Varsity prevailed over Grand Forks Central 10 - 0 at Purpur Arena on Thursday. GPR Varsity chalked up five straight goals to take the lead in the first period. GPR Varsity gained three goals in the second period and held on to its lead. The GPR Varsity defense took over in the final period. In the final period GPR Varsity scored two unanswered goals improving its score and winning the game.
Leading the scoring for GPR Varsity, Jade Miller got the hat trick with three goals. GPR Varsity's Zach Peterson scored two goals for GPR Varsity and also had one helper. Johnny Robideaux, Cole Rehovsky, and Levi Cudmore each added one goal for GPR Varsity.
Turning in a perfect performance, GPR Varsity's Zach Nelson turned away 13 shots for the win.
This was the first game of the season for Grand Forks Central.
