Spoilers were able to capture their first points of the season, in a huge 3 point win at Fargo South/Shanley on Saturday. Grant Schumacher recorded his first ever goal on a pretty give and go with forward Brett Longtin to put the Spoilers up 1-0 in the first. Jade Miller would strike on a sweet backhander to put the Spoilers up 2-0 just 2 minutes into the 2nd period.
However, South would not go quietly, as a goal was scored off of the post to cut the lead to 2-1. A brutal call against the Spoilers would put South on the PP, and South would cash in to tie the game with 34 seconds remaining in the 2nd period.
GPR would use that fuel, to fire back with two goals of their own. First, Peter Hills struck on a short handed goal to give the Spoilers the lead. On the goal, Hillsy would get a little too excited and let South's bench know how he felt, resulting in another penalty against the Spoilers. However, the team had his back, and killed off the resulting 5 on 3, and Jade Miller cashed in on another opportunity to give the Spoilers a 4-2 victory.
