GPR Spoilers improved on their season with a 2-0 win over East Ridge, MN and followed that up in the Championship with a 6-1 win over Northfield, MN.
In Friday's game, a Jade Miller PP Goal would put the Spoilers up 1-0, midway through the 2nd period. A tight, back and forth battle saw the Spoilers on the downside of the shots. But Nellyville Nelson would do his best brick wall imitation, and keep the Raptors from the score sheet. A high flip from Brett Longtin would be received by a streaking Miller to put the game on ice, as the Spoilers would finish with a final score of 2-0.
In the title bout, Northfield would strike first, putting home a long rebound on the Power Play to jump out 1-0. However, the Spoilers would outshoot Northfield 20-10 in the first, meaning eventually, you would think the goals would come.
AND DID THEY EVER! BOO YEAH. Brit Brouillard would smash home some trash on the PP to tie the game at 1, early in the 2nd on the PP. Jade Miller would score short-handed to put the Spoilers up for good. Peter "goon" Hills would score to make it 3-1, heading to the third period. The third period, was all Spoilers, as they got goals from Cole Rehovsky, Miller, and Hills, to finish off Northfield.
Up Next for the Spoilers, a clash with defending state champions Fargo North on Tuesday at the CC.
